Fundraising Total (updated 25th September 2014) $33,679.79
We are the Cowboys & Angels Line-Dance Competition team from the Cowboys & Angels Dance Academy of the small country town Romsey in Central Victoria.
This May we returned from the Australian Line-Dance Championships in Tamworth, NSW as the Australian Cup winners for a 3rd year running! Not only is this an amazing achievement, what's more is we were privileged to have been urged by 4 International judges to attend the World Dance Masters in Blackpool, UK in August of this year !
Thanks to the amazing support of our friends, family, line dancers Australia wide, and the general community, we were able to raise enough funds to support our team of 14 young dancers (aged 12-29) to attend the World Dance Masters, and come back WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!
Amongst many other Australian Competitors, the Cowboys & Angels competed in 22 events taking home a very successful total of 10 World Title’s in solo, duo and group divisions which has been the team’s greatest success in dancing to date, as well as a major success for Australian Line Dancers. See below for a list of the Cowboys & Angels achievements from the World Dance Masters in 2014.

We were ecstatic, overjoyed and extremely proud of our results as each one of the 14 dancers aged 12-29 who competed came away with a World Title in the Cabaret Section and the Standard Country Team (which were both highly competitive sections) amongst Titles received in other divisions. The team events were most exciting as there is certainly nothing like winning a world event and sharing it with the rest of your dance family. There were many tears of happiness shared amongst the dancers and their families, and certainly a lot of praise and recognition for the talented group which was noted by the judges, the spectators and the fellow competitors in attendance. It was an experience like no other. Stacey Robinson, Kate Smith and Jamie Robinson, teachers of the Cowboys & Angels Dance Academy competed in the World Dance Masters event in 2013 as well as this year and each came away with World Titles consecutively, whilst this was an amazing experience in 2013, this year was even more special to share it with such an amazing group of students who had worked tirelessly to achieve such amazing results. The level of excitement and joy was heightened given the reaction of all of the younger students who could not be happier with the positive comments and the trophies received!
Thankyou to everyone for your amazing support!!! What is next for the Cowboys & Angels… we aim to only get bigger and better from here! We will look at exploring other styles to incorporate into our dance academy to further develop line dancing and its growth and success in Australia. Our next big event will be the Showcase which is our dance school’s end of year concert to be held on the 8th of November, and after that a new year will begin with fresh ideas and what we hope will be another year of great friendship, and of success in competition line dancing.
